Michigan Eighth-Grader Has Been Helping Moms And Babies For Years

A third-grade field trip to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Lapeer, Michigan made a lasting impression on Grant Rasmussen. He decided he wanted to help the organization that helps moms and their babies and has been raising money for the center since then.
Now 14, Rasmussen has held garage sales that have brought in from $300 to $900 and uses the money to buy diapers, car seats, clothes, and basics like baby lotion and wipes. His whole family pitches in - his mom clips coupons to make their money stretch and his dad and sister help run the garage sales.
This teen is a great example of making a difference in your community. He hopes that by sharing his story, he can motivate others to do the same. “Do what you feel led to do,” Rasmussen says, “because in the end, it will most likely help someone in need.”
