Oakland Park, FL - A person was struck and killed by a Tri-Rail train in South Florida early Wednesday morning.
The person was struck around 10:15 a.m. just south of a railroad crossing on West Commercial Boulevard, west of Interstate 95.
The incident occurred just hours after Tri-Rail resumed service after its dispatching system went down Tuesday.
The Broward Sheriff’s homicide and crime scene units are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Investigators haven’t identified the pedestrian or how they ended up on the tracks.
