The state is starting to dry out after heavy storms moved through parts of Florida yesterday.

They include Palm Beach County, where a severe storm did some damage.

Westlake resident Richard Berman tells CBS 12 News that what happened at his home was overwhelming.

"It was raining harder and then it was raining sideways. Then I couldn't see in my backyard and I come outside and it was a total disaster."

The retired man has been asking neighbors to help him with the clean-up.

The National Weather Service reported wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour in northwestern Palm Beach County last night, which is when that storm came through. It toppled trees, snapped powerlines and damaged a pickleball court.

No tornados have been confirmed.
