The Tampa Bay Lightning (9-6-2) defeated the Florida Panthers (9-8-1) 3-1 on Saturday evening in Sunrise. With the win, the Lightning have now won eight of their last ten games.
The Lightning got the scoring started when Emil Lilleberg scored in the first period. Brad Marchand scored on a power play to tie the game in the second, before the Lightning took the lead back in the third. Jack Finley's first NHL goal broke the tie for Tampa Bay at the 4:09 mark of the third period, before Zemgus Girgensons added an empty-netter late that made it 3-1.
The Lightning return home to host the Vancouver Cancucks in the second game of a back-to-back coming up on Sunday. Puck drop from Benchmark International Arena is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Sunday evening.
