Florida Surgeon General indicates that he would like to see the mRNA (COVID) vaccines banned in Florida.
Dr. Joseph Ladapo, recently said on the On Call podcast, "I'm working with Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Health and our lawmakers to remove all of the vaccine mandates from statute. And that's the goal, that the COVID vaccine is not to be available to anyone because no one should be using that one."
However, Novavax’s protein-based vaccine is still available and is the latest FDA-authorized COVID booster available now.
Ladapo made the comments while being interviewed by Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a Houston physician who, like Ladapo, doubts the effectiveness of the COVID immunizations.
Florida recently decided to end all vaccine mandates, but Ladapo had promised that all the vaccines would remain available for those who want them.
“People want to get vaccines, that’s perfectly fine,” Ladapo said. But he disputed the notion “that somehow civilization can’t continue without them.”
