The top-seeded Florida Gators (33-4) defeated 4th-seeded Maryland (27-9) 87-71 on Thursday night to advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Will Richard scored 15 points to lead the Gators, while Alijah Martin had 14 points and seven rebounds. Walter Clayton Jr added 13 points and four assists. The Gators used a 29-3 advantage in bench points to wear down Maryland as this game went on.
The Gators are next in action on Saturday when they face the winner of #3-seed Texas Tech on Saturday. Tipoff in the game is scheduled for 6:09 PM on Saturday in San Francisco.
