The bride and caterer of a February wedding were arrested on Monday after they allegedly laced the wedding food with marijuana, leaving multiple people feeling weird, sick and stoned.
42-year-old Danya Glenny and 31-year-old Jocelyn Bryant are accused of tampering with food at the Longwood wedding that guests claimed was laced with marijuana.
On February 19th, Seminole County deputies responded to a medical call to assist fire and EMS personnel at the wedding reception.
Upon arrival, first responders found a crowd of 30-40 people, several of which were complaining of stomach pains and vomiting, with one man in his 40s requesting to be transported to South Seminole Hospital because he was “feeling weird” and stated he felt like he “had drugs inside him.”
Another guest told deputies she suspected the food she ate was “laced with possible cannabis” and vowed to prosecute.
Deputies say at least three others expressed wishes to press charges, and two people were too incoherent to give a written statement.
Deputies made contact with Glenny, who denied consenting to or requesting any of the food contain cannabis.
According to a report, multiple food items and pieces of glassware were collected for evidence and testing, including chocolate-covered strawberries, wine glasses, pudding shots, cookies, brownies and even a “handful of lasagna.”
Investigators say the lasagna and a piece of bread tested positive for THC.
Glenny and Bryant were arrested on charges of tampering, culpable negligence and delivery of marijuana.
