Pasco Sheriff K-9 Dies Unexpectedly

NEW PORT RICHEY -- One of the Pasco Sheriff's Office dogs has died.

The sheriff's office says that K9 Strong died Saturday of a medical issue, just a month before her seventh birthday.

A statement describes K9 Strong as an "energetic and dedicated member" of the PSO Highway Interdiction Team, serving as a narcotics detection dog since December of 2016, alongside her human partner, Deputy Frisco. Strong was one of a few female K9s at the Pasco office.
