State To Eliminate Florida Standards Assessments

The state of Florida plans to do away with Florida Standards Assessments.

Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran says they saw a shift when schools shut down due to the pandemic and the FSA was paused adding progress monitoring, which will replace FSA, is more focused and individualized for each student.

Corcoran says eliminating testing means more teaching in the classroom.

Governor Ron DeSantis says the change will be a priority for the upcoming legislative session.
