The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a kayaker who's been missing out of Vero Beach.
42-year old Donald Waters took his kayak out last Tuesday, but never returned.
Boaters found the kayak the next day, about two and a half miles southeast of the Sebastian Inlet and a backpack containing Waters' personal items was found on Saturday, 12 miles east of Vero.
The U.S. Coast Guard, along with Vero Beach Police and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission searched for 114 hours, covering more than 7,000 square nautical miles, before suspending the search on Sunday.
