Florida Gas Prices Spike To Highest Level Since July Of 2019

Strap in for sticker shock at the pump. Gas prices are up 15-cents this week compared to last, reaching the highest level Florida has seen in over a year. Triple-A spokesman Mark Jenkins says you can blame the refinery outages in Texas after the winter freeze. He says prices won't go down anytime soon-- more people are driving now that there's a COVID-19 vaccine and refineries are beginning to switch from the winter to summer blend which is more expensive. On average, Florida is at 2-61-per-gallon. It's $2.63 in Broward and $2.62 in Miami-Dade.
