Florida Protests Planned Amid Nationwide Tension Over George Floyd Death

Protests in South Florida are peaceful so far. Nearly 300 people blocked traffic in Downtown Lake Worth shouting "I can't breathe" as they call for justice for George Floyd who died in police custody last week. Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are blocking key intersections to reduce traffic in protest zones.

Rallies are underway in other South Florida cities including Coral Gables and Downtown Miami.

There are more protests expected tomorrow in cities including Lauderhill and Miami's Overtown neighborhood. Both events are set for 3 p.m. Sunday.

Several vigils mourning George Floyd are scheduled for this evening.
