Florida Republicans Protest Mike Bloomberg's Super Tuesday Visit

Democratic Presidential Candidate Mike Bloomberg Campaigns In Detroit

Mike Bloomberg's been spending his Super Tuesday in Florida and Republicans have noticed.

Michael Barnett is taking part in an anti-Bloomberg protest in West Palm Beach tonight, as the former New York Mayor holds a campaign event to watch the evening's results.

"We back our President here in Palm Beach County. This is Trump County," Barnett said, referring to the fact that President Trump's estate Mar-a-Lago is only a few miles away from the convention center where Tuesday night's event is being held. It's also now Trump and the first lady's permanent home.

Barnett is the chair of the Palm Beach County Republican Party and an African-American. He says the message of the protest is simple.

"We're not going to forget about Mike Bloomberg's very harsh words about African-Americans, or women, or farmers or many of the people he has insulted."

He says there's something else.

"We support the president and we reject Michael Bloomberg, as well as the rest of the Democrats running in the race."

Barnett expects 75 to 100 fellow Republicans to turn out.
