More than 800 charities are participating in the eighth Give Miami Day.
The Miami Foundation Senior Director of Communications and Engagement Matthew Beatty says, "It's our one opportunity this 24 hour giving campaign to really show them collectively how much we love and appreciate all that the do for us."

He stresses the non-profit organizations focus on all types of work from fighting homelessness, to funding community arts and protecting pets, and your donation doesn't end there because for "every gift between $25 to $10,000 has a percentage of it matched by the Miami Foundation and our wonderful bonus pool supporters like Knight Foundation and the William R. Watts Foundation and several others."
If you don't know which charity to donate to there's no need to be intimidated because at GiveMiamiDay.org there are profiles for every participating charity. You can scroll through them all, or type in keyword and get the 501(c)(3)s that best fit the effort you want to support.
You can also rest assured that they are all legitimate organizations because The Miami Foundation has fully vetted them, and they are in good standing serving Miami-Dade County.
Last year $11.5-million was raised during the 24-hour period, but the hope is they'll surpass that figure this year.
More than $47-million have been raised for local organization in the seven previous Give Miami Days.
