Restaurant Finds Lost Wedding Ring During Renovations

A wedding ring lost years ago in a South Florida restaurant has been reunited with its owner. Coconuts isn’t packed with customers these days because of the coronavirus, so managers decided to replace the wooden patio deck at the Fort Lauderdale restaurant. When the decking was pulled up, they found all kinds of treasures, including $100 bills and a wedding band engraved with “Mike&Lisa 08-21-15.”

Marketing manage rSasha Formica posted a photo of the ringon Facebook, but wasn’t sure if it would get a response. After thousands of shares and a couple days, it found its way to Mike and Lisa in New York. It turns out, the ring slipped off Mike’s finger while they were eating there in 2017 and it rolled between the boards of the deck. She reached out to Coconuts and sent them pictures of the couple dining there as proof.

They sent the ring back to Mike and thanked everyone who helped spread the word on Facebook, adding, “This is the kind of happy ending we were hoping for.”
